How Can I Help?
Have you ever considered becoming a firefighter?
Perhaps firefighting isn't your thing, but you would still like to help the organization in other ways.
This page will help you understand the roles at work inside our volunteer fire company.

To Become A Firefighter
Becoming a firefighter is not quite as simple as just showing up at fire calls.
The first step is to join the Orwin Fire Company. See the Membership page.
While you are there, please note the Junior Firefighter vs. Senior Firefighter criteria and rules.
It is important to understand that a minimum amount of training is required to become an active firefighter.
The most basic requirement is that you complete The Essentials of Firefighting and all related classes.
If you do not have this level of training, Orwin Fire will assist you in obtaining this training.
If you have considered becoming a firefighter, but would like to observe prior to making your decision, you can join our team as an observer. This allows you to attend local training sessions and observe the types of actions and physical demands of firefighting. You will still need to join OFC to tag along in observer status.
I'd Rather Just Help With Fundraisers
Fully understanding that not all folks are born to be firefighters, we graciously accept volunteers for all disciplines.
Once you are a member of the Orwin Fire Company, you can begin assisting our current members with fundraisers and other non fire related activities. We can always use help with Bean Soup Sales, Fall Festivals, Dinners and so much more.
